On October 4, 1913, the Majorca’s first electric tram line was opened between Sóller and Port de Sóller.

Port de Sóller and Tram

The project was designed and managed by Pedro Garau, and 4,868 metres of line were laid.

Although the Sóller tram was initially devised for carrying passengers, it was also used for transporting goods to the port.

Port de Sóller is a popular village with picturesque shops and restaurants on the seafront.

The old tram takes you to Port de Sóller’s charming bay. The street leading to the bay is car-free and is perfect for an enjoyable stroll; boats leave the port offering excursions to Sa Calobra and the Torrent de Pareis.
