Ciutat Jardí, a pleasant stroll from Puerto de Palma to Arenal

The Ciutat Jardí-Es Carnatge neighbourhood, in the centre of the bay of Palma, is home to the unmistakable Hotel Ciutat Jardí.

This hotel, which was declared as Monument of National Tourist Interest in 1986, first opened its doors in 1921 and therefore is the oldest hotel in the bay of Palma.

There is a promenade along the beach, as well as a cycle lane, that stretch from El Arenal in Llucmajor to the port in Palma.

This area has boasted a blue flag since 2008 and is the perfect place to enjoy a paella or “pa amb oli” in one of the many bars and restaurants that line the front.

 

Ciutat Jardí, a pleasant stroll from Puerto de Palma to ArenalTorre d’en Pau is another park in this area, it used to be a military barracks but has since been converted into a green zone, perfect for practicing sports as well as for those who prefer to spend some time in the shade of the pines after walking round and admiring the area’s colourful buildings.

Access by car is via the Autovía de Levante or Calle Llucmajor, there are a few different bus lines that stop in the area, they run every 15 minutes.
