The bay of Palma offers one of the most well known and characteristic views of Mallorca. It covers three municipalities, Palma, Llucmajor and Calvià, and is one of the biggest bays in the Mediterranean..
The island’s main tourist resorts are all in the bay of Palma; Platja de Palma, Magalluf, Palmanova and Santa Ponça. These resorts cater for a major part of the island’s tourism.
There are four well distinguished areas along the bay- the commercial docks, the Poniente (western) dock, the recreational marina and the Club Náutico, that holds the sailing Copa del Rey and the Reina Sofia trophy every year.
The bay of Palma borders to the west with Cala Figuera and to the east with Cabo Blanco, and includes the small Illetes bay that is covered with beautiful pine trees. It is the first image visitors see when arriving by sea.
Along the promenade you will find Mallorca’s longest bike lane, 13km long, which allows you to pass through the many different districts until arriving at S’Arenal.
