S’Estaca is a tiny but beautiful fisherman’s village set on the Tramuntana coast, between Valldemossa and Deià.

It can be accessed by a lane with amazing views, just behind the S’Estaca manor house.

To reach S’Estaca we must head from Valldemossa towards Banyalbufar. We quickly come across the road that heads to Deià, we must follow the road to the Marina de Valldemossa. Half way down we will find the lane to S’Estaca that is blocked with a wooden gate. No parking is allowed here but it can be accessed by foot.

The walk down to S’Estaca is easy and takes little over an hour.

Reaching the sea, we find picture perfect little houses. Some 20 stone buildings that used to be fisherman cottages.

On the shore, there are some jetties that are behind an imposing rock formation that protects them the force of the sea. We can swim in the crystal-clear waters here or from the rocks to the left of the jetty.

Remember to take food and drinks as there are no stores here.

More advanced walkers can continue from here and reach Sa Foradada, a flat walk that is free of obstacles, but takes a lot longer to complete.
