Mallorca has become one of the most important centres for art in all of Europe. Here is a selection of what we feel to be the most attractive galleries in Palma, due to their history, the relevance of their artists, their proposal and the beauty of the venues.
We begin in Calle Catalunya, here Horrach Moya selects contemporaneous and conceptual art in an interesting, minimalist space.
From here we head to Plaza Porta de Santa Catalina, in front of the Es Baluard Museum, here we find ABA ART LAB; a place drowned in amazing light that the artists use to generate Project Rooms and create custom made pieces, specific for this space.
Gerhardt Braun Gallery, in Sant Feliu, is a novel exhibition hall, that uses all the rooms and cubby holes in an old house.
It offers a general vision of contemporaneous art though the international profiles of its artists.
Finally, we come to the historic CCC Pelaires, the oldest contemporaneous art gallery in all of Spain. Many international artists have held exhibits here in the more than 40 years it has been open.
