Once there, we turn right along the MA-1101, beginning the ascent to \u201cEs Grau\u201d (468m.). We gain height and can enjoy views of the town we have just left behind. The second part of the ascent takes us through a stretch of trees which shelters us from the sun and heat.<br \/>\nThe descent through the valley, with typically Mediterranean vegetation, is one of the most beautiful stretches in the whole of Mallorca.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" alignleft size-full wp-image-5026\" style=\"margin: 10px 20px 10px 0px; float: left;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.masmallorca.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/Port_Valldemossa_2.jpg\" alt=\"Port_Valldemossa_2\" width=\"300\" height=\"381\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.masmallorca.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/Port_Valldemossa_2.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.masmallorca.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/Port_Valldemossa_2-236x300.jpg 236w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"Estilo18\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Upon reaching the MA-1100, we come across <a href=\"https:\/\/www.masmallorca.es\/ca\/llocs-amb-encant\/la-granja-d-esporles.html\">La Granja d&#8217;Esporles<\/a>, a beautiful, tenth century mansion that it is worthwhile visiting. From here, we take a left and then, at the next crossroads, we take a right along the MA-10 and head up to Coll d\u2019en Claret, from where we will have clear views over Palma Bay and then, on our descent, over Serra de Tramuntana and the sea, which is where we head to.<br \/>\nAfter a long straight stretch, we take a left turn to begin the descent towards Port de Valldemossa, crossing Pla des Rei and beginning our descent towards the sea via a narrow, winding road built over a former smuggler\u2019s route.
