The C\u00faber and Gorg Blau reservoirs sit in the valley of Almallutx<\/strong>, in the Serra de Tramuntana, and are an important water source for the city of Palma. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

To reach the reservoirs we need to take the road from S\u00f3ller <\/a>towards the monastery at Lluc. This beautiful route<\/a> crosses a majestic forest full of pines and holm oak trees. Before reaching the Monnaber tunnel we come to a lookout point that offers spectacular views of the S\u00f3ller Valley<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Exiting the tunnel, we pass an old military base that stationed the Ej\u00e9rcito de Aire (Air Force) and then we arrive at C\u00faber. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As C\u00faber is higher than Gorg Blau there is a canal that carries water between the reservoirs. If we look up, we can see Puig Major<\/a>, with the radar on the peak that has had restricted access since 1959 when an American squadron was created to control the western Mediterranean air space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the road towards Lluc we reach Gorg Blau, that is fed by the Gorg Blau and Almadr\u00e1 torrents. There is a recreational rest area that allows us to reach the edge of the reservoir with ease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many hikes start from C\u00faber and Gorg Blau, all the signposts for these are on wooden panels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
