They represent different examples of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.masmallorca.es\/cultura\/palma-o-la-ruta-del-modernismo.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"modernist  (opens in a new tab)\">modernist <\/a>architecture<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p class=\"western\">The <em><strong>El \u00c1guila<\/strong><\/em> building offers a beautiful solution to the structural need to create large bays and meet the commercial demand that it was created for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"western\">The <strong>geometric iron structure<\/strong> with oversized rivets on the first floor, evolves into <strong>vegetal shapes<\/strong> on the upper railings and presents a sharp contrast to the <strong>multi-coloured ceramic<\/strong> and decorative <strong>rounded arch<\/strong> that finish off the building.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"western\"><em><strong>Can Forteza Rey<\/strong><\/em> was built in the first decade of the 20<sup>th<\/sup> century. It was home to the dental clinic of Ignacio Forteza Rey, as the ever-lasting publicity on the second-floor attests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"western\">The fa\u00e7ade is decorated with<em> <strong>trencad\u00eds<\/strong><\/em> (a Gaudi inspired kind of broken mosaic tile) and has twisted <strong>iron railings<\/strong>, as well as a <strong>stone grotesque<\/strong> under the bay windows, another interesting feature are the <strong>traditional Majorcan shutters<\/strong> with their less than traditional shape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Can Forteza<\/em> was renovated in 2008.
