It is a very nice peninsula that divides the bays of <strong>Pollen\u00e7a and Alc\u00fadia<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>It has a series of heights named: Puig de la Vict\u00f2ria (445 m), Puig des Roman\u00ed (387 m), Penya Rotja (354 m) and Sa Talaia Vella (349 m).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The coastline is very rocky with plenty of cliffs; on Pollen\u00e7a Bay side you\u2019ll find some small beaches like <strong>S\u2019Illot<\/strong> and in Alc\u00fadia Bay you\u2019ll find <strong>Coll Baix<\/strong>, a very interesting peeble beach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is also a <strong>high-value natural area<\/strong> due to its rich and extensive flora and fauna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"940\" height=\"464\" src=\"https:\/\/www.masmallorca.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/area-natural-de-La-Victoria-2.jpg\" alt=\"Natural area of La Vict\u00f2ria, Mallorca\" class=\"wp-image-26829\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.masmallorca.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/area-natural-de-La-Victoria-2.jpg 940w, https:\/\/www.masmallorca.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/area-natural-de-La-Victoria-2-300x148.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.masmallorca.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/area-natural-de-La-Victoria-2-768x379.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 940px) 100vw, 940px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The prevailing vegetation is the magnificent pine groves, garriga and wild olive trees. There are plenty of cypress trees, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.masmallorca.es\/flora\/romero.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">rosemary<\/a> and Mediterranean fan palms (palmito), the only European palms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the coast you\u2019ll be able to watch sea birds like the seagull and the cormorant. One of our fauna most threatened to extinction species, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.masmallorca.es\/fauna\/aguila-pescadora.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Osprey<\/strong><\/a> (<em>Pandion haliaetus<\/em>), nests in this area. You can also observe several <strong>falcon species<\/strong> and other typical birds in the areas of pine groves and garrigues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Penya Roja, which is named after its ochre reddish colour, constitutes an almost impregnable <strong>natural fortress<\/strong>. This was the site of a tower built in 1603, which later was deserted and replaced by <strong>Sa Talaia d\u2019Alc\u00fadia<\/strong>, the <strong>highest watchtower<\/strong> in Mallorca.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At a height of 7 km from Alc\u00fadia, just before arriving to Penya Roja or Penya des Migdia (440 m) is located the old sanctuary of <strong>Nuestra Se\u00f1ora de la Victoria<\/strong>, which was restored in the 17th century.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"940\" height=\"953\" src=\"https:\/\/www.masmallorca.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/area-natural-de-La-Victoria-Mallorca.jpg\" alt=\"Natural area of La Vict\u00f2ria, Mallorca\" class=\"wp-image-26834\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.masmallorca.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/area-natural-de-La-Victoria-Mallorca.jpg 940w, https:\/\/www.masmallorca.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/area-natural-de-La-Victoria-Mallorca-296x300.jpg 296w, https:\/\/www.masmallorca.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/area-natural-de-La-Victoria-Mallorca-768x779.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 940px) 100vw, 940px\" \/><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The protected area of Puig de la Vict\u00f2ria is 1.198 ha. large.
