It is a treasure trove of echoes from the past, rich in cultural heritage linked to the Despuig family who purchased the Arab farm back in 1660.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" alignleft size-full wp-image-2555\" style=\"border: 0px none; margin: 10px 20px 10px 0px; float: left;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.masmallorca.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/raixa_2.jpg\" alt=\"raixa_2\" width=\"300\" height=\"423\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.masmallorca.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/raixa_2.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.masmallorca.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/raixa_2-213x300.jpg 213w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The most well-known member of the family was Cardinal Antoni Despuig, driving force behind the renovation that at the beginning of the 19 th century turned Raixa into a monumental neoclassical villa.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Raixa<\/em> reopens its doors to the public<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" alignleft size-full wp-image-2560\" style=\"border: 0px none; margin: 10px 20px 10px 0px; float: left;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.masmallorca.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/raixa_3.jpg\" alt=\"raixa_Mallorca\" width=\"300\" height=\"397\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.masmallorca.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/raixa_3.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.masmallorca.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/raixa_3-227x300.jpg 227w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In March the Raixa estate, in Bunyola, was reopened to the public, after a renovation that has improved the gardens and created the Serra de Tramuntana interpretation centre.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The renovation carried out in 2002 was controversial as it transformed the interior using a fusion of neoclassic and modern styles.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The gardens offer the most beautiful views of the complex. Architectonic elements stand out like the entrance gate, the monumental staircase, the orange tree garden and the water cistern, that was converted into a pool at the beginning of the 19 th century as water was then obtained from the Pastoritx spring (Valldemossa).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\">The reopening of <\/span><span lang=\"en-GB\"><i>Raixa <\/i><\/span><span lang=\"en-GB\">has solicited an impressive response from the public, the estate is already welcoming visitors hoping to enjoy a peaceful wander around the perfumed gardens, and to visit the interpretation centre in the <\/span><span lang=\"en-GB\"><i>Serra de la Tramuntana<\/i><\/span><span lang=\"en-GB\">, UNESCO World Heritage Site.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;\"><strong>Hours:<\/p>\n<p>Monday &#8211; Sunday from 11 to 18 hours. <br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-full wp-image-2544\" style=\"border: 0px none; margin: 10px 0px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.masmallorca.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/raixa_6.jpg\" alt=\"raixa_6\" width=\"540\" height=\"298\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.masmallorca.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/raixa_6.jpg 540w, https:\/\/www.masmallorca.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/raixa_6-300x166.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 540px) 100vw, 540px\" \/>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Finca closed for renovation, for more information: 0034 971 219 741<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Raixa is one of the most beautiful manor houses in all Mallorca.
