{"id":25554,"date":"2019-07-18T10:36:57","date_gmt":"2019-07-18T08:36:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.masmallorca.es\/places-of-special-interest\/los-cardinals-de-lloseta-son-el-sueno-de-todo-goloso.html"},"modified":"2019-07-18T19:33:04","modified_gmt":"2019-07-18T17:33:04","slug":"lloseta-cardinals-a-dream-for-all-those-with-a-sweet-tooth","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.masmallorca.es\/en\/gastronomy\/lloseta-cardinals-a-dream-for-all-those-with-a-sweet-tooth.html","title":{"rendered":"Lloseta\u2019s cardinals, a dream for all those with a sweet tooth"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The bakers in LLoseta produce amazing cakes called <em>cardinals<\/em>, worthy of the most sophisticated member of the <strong>roman curia<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>They are <strong>long cakes<\/strong> made with meringue, cream and soft sponge. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.masmallorca.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/cardinals-lloseta-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"Lloseta\u2019s cardinals\" width=\"940\" height=\"1253\"\/><figcaption>Lloseta\u2019s cardinals<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Delicious and tremendously refined, they are the creation of <a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/b8TANMksQwa1Uaor7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Forn de Baix (opens in a new tab)\">Forn de Baix<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The extremely spongy cake called <em>medritxo mallorqu\u00ed <\/em>and the Suisse meringue are wrapped round kirsch infused cream. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Cardinals of Lloseta, these amazing delicacies are designed to be shared during celebrations.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Lloseta<\/strong> is a very calm, pleasant town, located near Inca. The most outstanding buildings are the <strong>parochial church<\/strong> and the <strong>Aiamans Palace<\/strong>, both located in the main square. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.masmallorca.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/cardinals-lloseta-iglesia-728x1024.jpg\" alt=\" Parochial church  Lloseta\" width=\"940\" height=\"1323\"\/><figcaption><strong> Parochial church<\/strong>  Lloseta<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Palace was built in 1634 and has a beautiful Italianate style facade, decorated with <strong>stone balustrades<\/strong>, <strong>arches<\/strong> and <strong>busts<\/strong>, result of the renovation that took place during the 19<sup>th<\/sup> century. Later works were carried out inside the palace and in the gardens. It has been declared a <strong>Place of Cultural Interest<\/strong> and hosts cultural events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.masmallorca.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/cardinals-lloseta-bn.jpg\" alt=\" Aiamans Palace,  Place of Cultural Interest\"\/><figcaption> <strong>Aiamans Palace<\/strong>, Place of Cultural Interest (BIC)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The white marble fa\u00e7ade of the <strong>theatre<\/strong> in Lloseta, blends in well with the <strong>surrounding architecture<\/strong>, it has a great program and hosts a series of <strong>classical concerts<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And we should not forget the <strong>mining history<\/strong>, the areas surrounding Lloseta produced most of Mallorca\u2019s coal.
