The bougainvillea climbing the walls fosters the feel of an abandoned fortress. The park is accessed through a gate and the different paths lead to a lookout point.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"898\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.masmallorca.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/parques-palma-HORTdelREI1-898x1024.jpg\" alt=\"Parks by the sea, Palma, L\u2019Hort del Rei\" class=\"wp-image-24434\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.masmallorca.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/parques-palma-HORTdelREI1-898x1024.jpg 898w, https:\/\/www.masmallorca.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/parques-palma-HORTdelREI1-263x300.jpg 263w, https:\/\/www.masmallorca.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/parques-palma-HORTdelREI1-768x876.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.masmallorca.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/parques-palma-HORTdelREI1.jpg 940w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 898px) 100vw, 898px\" \/><figcaption>  <strong>Hort del Rei<\/strong>  <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Just 300m away, heading towards Palma Centre, we find <strong>Sa Quarentena park<\/strong>, its name refers to the old building where travellers arriving from lands known for infectious diseases were held in isolation. The park still has two doors that access the isolation clinic. It is laid out on a hill. Originally it sat next to the sea and the mouth of the Riera Torrent.
