Then they have to be dried in the sun, so that they get their characteristic white colour.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Once <strong>dry<\/strong>, they are crushed into finer strands, a stage that is referred to as &#8220;embrinar&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The best quality strands or &#8220;brins&#8221; are put aside for the <strong>finest quality work<\/strong>, while the rest are used for the manufacture of brooms and brushes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-23692 size-full\" style=\"border: 0px none; margin: 0px 20px 30px 0px; float: left;\" title=\"Obra de Llatra, pauma. This is the case of the giant reed (arundo donax).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In Capdepera one can visit La Palma.
