Here people were able to study Theology, Art, Law and Medicine until a period of decline took over at the end of the 18th century.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The patronage created in 1950, as an \u201cexponent of the cultural development on the islands and promotor of a restoration of university teachings\u201d, took up the baton in scholarly development.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Significant institutions such as the Ram\u00f3n Llull chair, that works alongside the Philosophy and Writings faculty of the University of Barcelona embraced the centre.
