Modernist Museum, S\u00f3ller, Mallorca\" src=\"https:\/\/www.masmallorca.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/museum-can-prunera-soller-escalera.jpg\" alt=\"museum-can-prunera-soller-escalera\" width=\"360\" height=\"541\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.masmallorca.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/museum-can-prunera-soller-escalera.jpg 360w, https:\/\/www.masmallorca.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/museum-can-prunera-soller-escalera-200x300.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 360px) 100vw, 360px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A century later, the <strong>Fundaci\u00f3 Tren de L\u2018Art<\/strong> purchased and renovated the property returning it to its former glory.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A terrible plague attacked\u00a0<strong style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a style=\"text-align: justify;\" title=\"S\u00f3ller, Mallorca\" href=\"https:\/\/www.masmallorca.es\/sitios-con-encanto\/puerto-de-soller-y-tranvia.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">S\u00f3ller<\/a>&#8216;s<\/strong><span style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0fruit trees in 1865, causing a migration towards France and Central America. The wealthy Sollerenses that returned to Mallorca brought with them a taste for <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>art nouveau<\/strong><\/span>, which is well reflected in the houses they went on to build. Can Prunera is, together with the Banc de S\u00f3ller and Sant Bartomeu church most representative display of modernism in this town in the\u00a0<\/span><a style=\"text-align: justify;\" title=\"Serra de Tramuntana, Mallorca\" href=\"https:\/\/www.masmallorca.es\/sitios-con-encanto\/la-serra-de-tramuntana-candidata-a-paisaje-cultural-de-la-unesco.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tramuntana Range<\/a><span style=\"text-align: justify;\">.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>The Can Prunera Modernist Museum<\/strong> exhibits the house\u2018s original furniture that has been richly decorated with marquetry. The facade is embellished with sinuous shapes and vegetable motifs on it\u2018s stone ashlars and iron work. The floors are made with hydraulic tiles, in bright colours, making up geometric and floral designs. The stuccoed images on the ceilings depict from hunting motifs to modernist flower designs.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-11591 aligncenter\" style=\"text-align: justify;\" title=\"Can Prunera. Here you can see sculptures from the <strong>D\u2018Art Serra Colection<\/strong>, as well as permanent exhibits of <strong>Joan Mir\u00f3, Toulouse-Lautrec, Paul Klee, and Fernand L\u00e9ger<\/strong>, among others as well as Mallorcan painters or those related to Mallorca like <strong>Santiago Rusi\u00f1ol, Joaquim Mir, Joan Fuster and Miquel Barcel\u00f3<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-11596 aligncenter\" style=\"text-align: justify;\" title=\"Can Prunera.
