In 1952, it stopped being a reference for strategic defense. In 1963 there was a partial demolition and it was immediately rebuilt. Today it is one of the most significant and visited history-art monuments.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-10030 size-full\" style=\"border: 0px none; margin: 10px 20px 5px 0px; float: left;\" title=\"bastions of Sant Pere and of the Prince, Palma, Mallorca\" src=\"https:\/\/www.masmallorca.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/baluartes-Sant-Pere-Princep-de-Palma-4.jpg\" alt=\"The bastions of Sant Pere and of the Prince recover the fortified Palma\" width=\"290\" height=\"434\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.masmallorca.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/baluartes-Sant-Pere-Princep-de-Palma-4.jpg 290w, https:\/\/www.masmallorca.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/baluartes-Sant-Pere-Princep-de-Palma-4-200x300.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 290px) 100vw, 290px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The development of the <strong>Princep bastion<\/strong>, on the Llevant wall, has been more complex. In the 40\u2019s the state built the over bastion of the <em>Caja de Reclutas<\/em> (box of recruits) a military building that contributed largely to the deterioration of the enclosure.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Since 1985 its renovation has been key consideration, the goal, to turn it into an enormous balcony which opens the city to the sea.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-10035\" style=\"border: 0px none; margin: 10px 0px; float: left;\" title=\"bastions of Sant Pere and of the Prince, Palma, Mallorca\" src=\"https:\/\/www.masmallorca.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/baluartes-Sant-Pere-Princep-de-Palma-5.jpg\" alt=\"The bastions of Sant Pere and of the Prince recover the fortified Palma\" width=\"940\" height=\"503\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.masmallorca.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/baluartes-Sant-Pere-Princep-de-Palma-5.jpg 540w, https:\/\/www.masmallorca.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/baluartes-Sant-Pere-Princep-de-Palma-5-300x161.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 940px) 100vw, 940px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div id=\"_mcePaste\" style=\"position: absolute; left: -10000px; top: 0px; width: 1px; height: 1px; overflow: hidden;\">\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm;\"><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\">Las antiguas murallas de Palma fueron derribadas hace d\u00e9cadas, pero quedan algunos valiosos vestigios que se han integrado como elementos destacados del nuevo modelo de ciudad: los baluartes de Sant Pere y del Pr\u00edncep, en plena fachada mar\u00edtima.
