Der Haupteingang befindet sich zur Stra\u00dfe Calle Palau Reial hin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Errichtet wurde das Geb\u00e4ude zwischen 1939 und 1945 auf Anweisung des mallorquinischen Financiers Joan March Ordinas.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Der Palast belegt eine Fl\u00e4che von 1 500 m2&nbsp; innerhalb des ehemaligen Klosters von Santo Domingo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Heute hat die Stiftung Fundaci\u00f3n March hier ihren Sitz. Das Geb\u00e4ude beherbergt ein Museum, ein Auditorium, eine Bibliothek, die seit 1970 zum Teil f\u00fcr die \u00d6ffentlichkeit zug\u00e4nglich ist und eine Cafeteria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Das Museum eine Dauerausstellung mit zeitgen\u00f6ssischen Skulpturen, welche der G\u00f6nner Bartolom\u00e9 March Servera, j\u00fcngster Sohn des Gr\u00fcnders, einst im Turm Cega de Cala Rajada aufbewahrte. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sie enth\u00e4lt unter anderem Werke von Henry Moore, Chillida, Berrocal und Alfaro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Unter den auf dem Gel\u00e4nde ausgestellten Kunstwerken ragt die ber\u00fchmte neapolitanische Krippe aus dem 18.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jahrhundert heraus, ein wundersch\u00f6nes Werk, die nicht nur die Geburt des Jesuskindes darstellt, sondern auch eine Szene aus dem damaligen Alltag mit vielen menschlichen Figuren, Tieren und kleinen Details, die ein eindrucksvolles Gesamtkunstwerk ergeben, welches die Besucher in Staunen versetzt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die Bibliothek der Stiftung ist auf Themen der Balearen spezialisiert und verf\u00fcgt \u00fcber bibliothekarische Best\u00e4nde und Dokumente, die vom 16. Jahrhundert bis in die heutige Zeit reichen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sie enth\u00e4lt mehr als 2 000 Manuskripte (Kodexe und Autogrammserien), 60 000 Buchb\u00e4nde, Zeitungen, Brosch\u00fcren und andere Drucksachen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Das Auditorium bietet ein Programm aus Kammerkonzerten und Musikreihen mit zeitgen\u00f6ssischer Musik an.
