Seine Nahrung besteht vorzugsweise aus Distelsamen und gelegentlich frisst er auch kleine Insekten. Der Stieglitz baut sein Nest in B\u00e4umen aus Zweigen, die er miteinander verflicht. Das Weibchen legt zweimal pro Jahr vier bis sechs Eier. Obwohl es sich bei dieser Vogelart um Zugv\u00f6gel handelt, gibt es auch vereinzelt sesshafte Exemplare.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" alignright size-full wp-image-2267\" style=\"margin: 10px 0px 10px 20px; float: right;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.masmallorca.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/cadernera_3.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"261\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sie br\u00fcten normalerweise in Nordeuropa und ziehen im Herbst Richtung S\u00fcdoder Osteuropa. Die auf Mallorca lebenden \u201ecaderneres\u201c, wie sie hier genannt werden, m\u00fcssen das Mittelmeer ohne Zwischenlandung \u00fcberqueren.
