Jakob I. von Aragon wurde im Jahr 1208 in Montpellier (Frankreich) als Sohn des K\u00f6nigs Peter II. von Aragon und Barcelona und Maria von Montpellier, geboren. Er war K\u00f6nig von Aragon (1213-1276), von Valencia (1239-76) und von Mallorca (1229-1276), Graf von Barcelona (1213-1276) und Feudalherr von Montpellier (1219-1276).<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

So erz\u00e4hlt die Legende: Aus der ungl\u00fcckseligen Verbindung ging ein Sohn hervor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Der besorgte Hofstaat hatte n\u00e4mlich einen Plan geschmiedet, dem zufolge die k\u00fcnftige Frau des K\u00f6nigs sich als eine Geliebte ausgeben sollte. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nachdem er sich den fl eischlichen Genu?ssen mit einer Frau hingegeben hatte, ohne zu wissen, dass es seine eigene war, deckte er bei Tagesanbruch den Schwindel auf und verlie\u00df den Palast auf Nimmerwiedersehen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sein Name wurde dem Kind von der Mutter gegeben. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sie z\u00fcndete zw\u00f6lf Kerzen mit den Namen der Apostel an und w\u00e4hlte den Namen der Kerze aus, die als letzte erlosch. Diese trug den Namen Santiago bzw. Jaume (Jakob). <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Jakob selbst schildert in seinem Buch El libre dels feyts<\/a> (etwa: Das Buch der Taten) die Umst\u00e4nde seiner Zeugung. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00abNachfolgend will ich erz\u00e4hlen, wie ich gezeugt wurde und wie meine Geburt ablief. Zun\u00e4chst zu der Zeugung: Mein Vater, K\u00f6nig Peter, wollte meine Mutter, die K\u00f6nigin, nicht treffen. Es geschah, als mein Vater in Lates war. Meine Mutter, die K\u00f6nigin, befand sich in Miravall. Ein Edelmann namens S. von Alcal\u00e1 wandte sich an den K\u00f6nig und bat ihn so inst\u00e4ndig, in das St\u00e4dtchen Miravall zu fahren, indem sich meine Mutter aufhielt, bis er ihn schlie\u00dflich \u00fcberzeugt hatte. Es war der Wille unseres Herrn, dass ich in jener Nacht, in der sich die beiden in Miravall sahen, gezeugt werden sollte. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Als meine Mutter, die K\u00f6nigin, mit mir schwanger in Montpellier ankam, hat Gott unser Herr, am Vorabend des Marienfesttages Mari\u00e4 Lichtmess das Haus der Familie Tornamira als meinen Geburtsort auserkoren. Nur kurz nachdem meine Mutter mich geboren hatte, entsandte sie mich nach Santa Mar\u00eda, wo mich die Menschen auf ihren Armen trugen und ihre Morgengebete in der Marienkirche sangen. Und w\u00e4hrend sie mit mir durch das Eingangstor schritten, sangen sie Te Deum laudamus. Die Priester bemerkten unsere Ankunft nicht. Nachdem wir die Kirche verlassen hatten, brachten sie mich nach San Fernu. Diejenigen, die mich trugen, traten in die Kapelle von San Fernu ein und sangen dabei Benedictus dominus deus Israel. Schlie\u00dflich brachten sie mich zu meiner Frau Mutter zur\u00fcck. Diese war voller Freude ob der Geschehnisse, die uns widerfahren waren.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
