La seva construcci\u00f3 es va iniciar en 1229 i dura tres segles, la qual cosa li resta certa unitat.<br \/>\n La Seu va ser constru\u00efda amb mar\u00e8s de les pedreres de Llucmajor (Galdent i Puigderr\u00f3s), Felanitx, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.masmallorca.es\/ca\/llocs-amb-encant\/portals-vells-2.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Portals Vells<\/a>, Campos (Font Santa), Palma (Coll d\u2019en Rabassa, Sa Teulera, Bellver i Son Puigdorfila de Palma) i Santany\u00ed.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-6525 size-full\" style=\"border: 0px none; margin: 10px 20px 5px 0px; float: left;\" title=\"La Catedral de Palma, Mallorca\" src=\"https:\/\/www.masmallorca.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/Catedral-de-Palma-2.jpg\" alt=\"La Catedral de Palma, Mallorca\" width=\"280\" height=\"204\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El 1931, l\u2019edifici va ser declarat <strong>Monument Hist\u00f2ric-art\u00edstic<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">De planta rectangular, t\u00e9 tres capelles paral\u00b7leles a la cap\u00e7alera i capelles laterals entre els contraforts.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La Seu \u00e9s la segona catedral g\u00f2tica -despr\u00e9s de Beauvais (Fran\u00e7a)- de major altura de la nau entre les d\u2019estil g\u00f2tic europees. L\u2019alt\u00edssima nau central de gaireb\u00e9 44 metres exigeix robusts contraforts i doble soluci\u00f3 de grans arcbotants, a causa de la difer\u00e8ncia d\u2019altura entre la nau central i els laterals. La coberta es soluciona amb voltes de creueria. Sorprenentment l\u2019Esgl\u00e8sia parroquial de Sant Miquel de Llucmajor, \u00e9s la segona esgl\u00e8sia m\u00e9s gran de Mallorca despr\u00e9s de la Catedral de Palma.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Els catorze pilars octogonals, esvelts i sense columnetes adossades, suporten la coberta i assoleixen la m\u00e0xima altura permesa pel material utilitzat, aquests pilars poden ser considerats com una aut\u00e8ntica meravella arquitect\u00f2nica des del punt de vista de l\u2019enginyeria, oferint un ampli espai interior de 6.600 m\u00b2 constru\u00efts.<\/p>\n<p> Recentment, en un dels absis laterals, s\u2019ha instal\u00b7lat un gran mural cer\u00e0mic, obra de Miquel Barcel\u00f3.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La catedral de Palma consta d\u2019un interessant <strong>museu<\/strong>, al qual podrem accedir a trav\u00e9s de la casa de l\u2019Almoina, al costat de la torre del campanar.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Solucions externes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Al seu costat sud, que mira cap a la badia de Palma, \u00e9s prodigi\u00f3s en la seva teoria d\u2019alt\u00edssims contraforts com els pals d\u2019un navili prest a salpar.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-6530 size-full\" style=\"border: 0px none; margin: 10px 20px 20px 0px; float: left;\" title=\"La Catedral de Palma, Mallorca\" src=\"https:\/\/www.masmallorca.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/Catedral-de-Palma-3.jpg\" alt=\"La Catedral de Palma, Mallorca\" width=\"280\" height=\"280\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.masmallorca.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/Catedral-de-Palma-3.jpg 280w, https:\/\/www.masmallorca.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/Catedral-de-Palma-3-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 280px) 100vw, 280px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><br \/>\n Rosassa<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00c9s la catedral amb <strong>la major rosassa del m\u00f3n g\u00f2tic<\/strong>, amb un di\u00e0metre d\u2019al voltant de 13,8 m i uns 100 m\u00b2. La rosassa est\u00e0 situada sobre l\u2019altar central a la cap\u00e7alera, i no als peus com \u00e9s habitual.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Podrem apreciar els meravellosos jocs de llums del sol en l\u2019interior de la fa\u00e7ana principal, dues vegades a l\u2019any: a <strong>mitjan novembre i en els primers dies de febrer<\/strong>, si no hi ha nuvolositat, abans de les vuit del mat\u00ed.
