{"id":5625,"date":"2010-05-05T17:38:38","date_gmt":"2010-05-05T15:38:38","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2021-03-18T12:24:01","modified_gmt":"2021-03-18T11:24:01","slug":"ciutat-romana-de-pollentia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.masmallorca.es\/ca\/cultura\/ciutat-romana-de-pollentia.html","title":{"rendered":"Ciutat romana de Pol\u00b7l\u00e8ntia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" alignright size-full wp-image-5609\" style=\"border: 0px none; margin: 0px 20px; float: right;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.masmallorca.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/Pollentia-1.jpg\" alt=\"Pollentia-1\" width=\"150\" height=\"102\" \/>La ciutat romana de Pol\u00b7l\u00e8ntia, es troba situada a l\u2019exterior de les muralles medievals del centre hist\u00f2ric d\u2019Alc\u00fadia. \u00c9s una de les dues ciutats fundades pel c\u00f2nsul Quintus Caecilius Metellus, cap de l\u2019expedici\u00f3 romana que va dominar l\u2019illa en l\u2019any 123 a. de C.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" alignleft size-full wp-image-5614\" style=\"border: 0px none; margin: 10px 20px 5px 0px; float: left;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.masmallorca.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/Pollentia-2.jpg\" alt=\"Pollentia-2\" width=\"210\" height=\"534\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.masmallorca.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/Pollentia-2.jpg 210w, https:\/\/www.masmallorca.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/Pollentia-2-118x300.jpg 118w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 210px) 100vw, 210px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El jaciment ocupa una superf\u00edcie d\u2019unes dotze hect\u00e0rees i el conjunt inclou el barri residencial de la <strong>Portella<\/strong>, on les excavacions han fet visibles dos carrers i diverses cases, i el <strong>F\u00f2rum<\/strong>, pla\u00e7a p\u00fablica on s\u2019han descobert singulars edificacions com el <strong>temple capitol\u00ed<\/strong> dedicat al culte imperial.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A partir del segle III d. de C. es va construir una muralla de la qual es conserven cent metres. Als afores de la ciutat, a uns deu minuts a peu, se situa el <strong>teatre rom\u00e0<\/strong> constru\u00eft a la fi del segle I d. de C. amb una capacitat per a dues mil persones. La ciutat romana va iniciar la seva decad\u00e8ncia a partir del segle IV d. de C., especialment despr\u00e9s de les invasions de v\u00e0ndals i bizantins.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Encara que les ru\u00efnes de la ciutat eren conegudes des del segle XVI, les primeres excavacions no es van realitzar fins a principis del segle XX, a causa en bona part de la confusi\u00f3 generada amb el nom de la ciutat ja que es considerava que la ubicaci\u00f3 de l\u2019antiga Pollentia havia de coincidir amb l\u2019actual Pollen\u00e7a, poblaci\u00f3 ve\u00efna que ha conservat aquesta denominaci\u00f3.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Des de l\u2019any 1957 un equip dirigit per A. Arribas, M. Tarradell i D. Woods realitza una campanya anual d\u2019excavacions, patrocinada per The William L. Bryant Foundation. Durant els treballs s\u2019han fet importants descobriments arqueol\u00f2gics, com un cap de nena de<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" alignleft size-full wp-image-5598\" style=\"border: 0px none; margin: 5px 20px 10px 0px; float: left;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.masmallorca.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/Pollentia-3.jpg\" alt=\"Pollentia-3\" width=\"210\" height=\"189\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">bronze o diverses monedes, que es conserven en el <strong>Museu Monogr\u00e0fic de Pol\u00b7l\u00e8ntia<\/strong>.
